| Le réseau REPAMO répond à plusieurs objectifs, définis dans différentes Directives Européennes: prévenir et détecter l'introduction et la propagation d'un agent pathogène émergent, réémergent ou exotique pour les productions de coquillages d'intérêt commercial en France, surveiller l'évolution des maladies à déclaration obligatoire, surveiller les échanges avec nos partenaires commerciaux. Le fonctionnement repose sur la collaboration entre les professionnels, la DPMCM, les laboratoires côtiers d'IFREMER, et trois cellules d'analyses. | Le réseau REPAMO (Réseau de Pathologie des Mollusques) est un réseau de santé animale, qui s'occupe des coquillages marins du littoral français métropolitain. Les mollusques marins des côtes françaises représentent une ressource par la pêche, mais sont surtout une part importante de l'aquaculture. Les pertes liées aux maladies dans ce domaine d'activité sont aujourd'hui considérées comme l'un des principaux facteurs limitants de son développement au niveau mondial. | Pendant l'été 1995, des mortalités d'huîtres creuses ont été observées sur une grande partie du littoral français et notamment en Bretagne. Pour cette région, un ensemble d'informations concernant ces mortalités a été recueilli au près d'organismes en contact direct avec les professionnels : IFREMER, les Affaires Maritimes et la Section Régionale Conchylicole de Bretagne sud. L'objectif de ce rapport est, à partir de quatre sources d'informations, de chiffrer ces mortalités dans les différents sites bretons et d'étudier les relations éventuelles avec différents paramètres tels que l'origine des huîtres, la technique d'élevage, le site d'élevage, etc... | The main objectives of the Mollusc Pathology Network (REPAMO) are to prevent introductions or outbreaks of infectious agents, prevent spread within a farm and especially from one farm to another, to study ways of decreasing the impact of infectious agent and to monitor the development of these pathogens in order to guarantee the health status of oysters exchanged with our commercial partners. | Bi-parental families were produced in hatchery and tested in the field in 2001. Two sets of 5 families were constituted, selected on their high (R) and low (S) survival. These two sets were reared in Brittany from March to November 2002. Samplings were performed twice a month to obtain data on biometry, survival, reproductive cycle, biochemical composition, adenylate energy charge, hemolymph parameters (ions and defense system) and muscle strength. "R" and "S" oysters exhibited different reproductive effort and spawning strategy. "R" oysters allocated less energy in gonad than "S" ones and presented a complete spawning at the end of August contrary to the "S" which spawns partially. | We report the occurrence of the microsporidian parasite Steinhausia sp. in the oocytes of the common cockle Cerastoderma edule in a natural population in France, where high mortalities occurred. Steinhausia sp. appeared primarily as sporocysts containing many small spores, and putative earlier developmental stages were also observed. Both its prevalence and infection intensity were low, and no host defence reaction was recognized, suggesting that Steinhausia sp. had no detrimental effect on C. edule. Its prevalence was higher in cockles lying on the sediment surface, but the significance of this observation could not be explained given the poor knowledge of the Steinhausia life cycle. | The European flat oyster Ostrea edulis has been considered as the traditional French oyster for a very long time and has now nearly disappeared from our farms, as a consequence of the two successive epizootic of the Marteilia refringens parasite and Bonamia ostreae. The actual quasi monoculture of Crassostrea gigas has made necessary the search for a diversification in oyster culture, including the search for a new start of the indigenous flat oyster culture. The Ifremer has been conducting parallel works since 1985 in order to better understand the biology of the parasite as well as to try and select different lines of flat oyster resistant to Bonamia ostreae. |

| Every year, from March to December, the IFREMER / REMORA network carries out a survey of mortality, growth and quality criteria of two oyster batches ("juveniles" = one-year ciass ; and "adults" = two-years class), distributed among various stations of the main French oyster areas. In Brittany, this network includes 11 points, to which regional points can be added (15 in 2000). With regard to the Breton stations of the network, the year 2000 showed rather low mortality rates, excepted mortality of several oysters when transfered to the sea.
